More on Sam’s background:

Sam’s mentors describe him as a hardworking, disciplined, and self-driven student.

In secondary school, he was involved in the C.R.O. community in several ways. He was Chief Advisor of the Peer Education Club at C.R.O. and very active in the CRO Children's Bakery. Through the Children’s Bakery, he not only participated in the baking, but also did research into how to market the cakes in the community.

Sam also was active beyond the C.R.O. community. He began renting a small garden where he can grow vegetables and sell them to guest houses and local restaurants, in addition to a part-time job as a cleaner and gardener at a guest house.  He supports his mother, who is a single parent, by providing funds for his younger brother’s school fees.
