Afaani Adam

Afaani Adam completed a degree in Graphic Communication Design from Nkumba University in 2019. Throughout Adam’s educational experience, he truly thrived academically and socially. He became well versed in countless aspects of design, various computer programs, and some of the technical aspects such as binding books. Adam’s interest in design began when he created a stationary store at C.R.O. and as a CROSO scholar, he allowed his design skills to flourish. When Adam completed his third year, he reflected on his academic experience thus far and said, “I am very far compared to whom I was when I wished to be a graphic designer. The time I have spent at campus, I have learned a lot…” He is also eager to implement his knowledge from his various internship opportunities, which included professional experiences in print, publishing, and various different design communication mediums.

Although Adam spent the majority of his time studying, he also believes in the importance of taking time for himself. Adam is very passionate about remaining healthy, so he dedicated many of his afternoons to play football with his friends on a team they have named as “Arsenal.” Adam loved spending time with his friends and a few of his favorite activities consisted of watching movies and relaxing at the beach. Whether he was working on a project for school, absorbing information from his internships, or spending time with his friends, Adam believes that all of these experiences have positively cultivated him into the professional he has always yearned to be.

Adam is proud to be the man and the artist that he has always known he could be, but did not believe that he could ever become. 

More Background information about Adam:

In secondary school, Adam was quite active. In addition to starting the stationery store at C.R.O., he was also involved in student politics, debate, and he was a Deputy Prefect of Games and Sports before becoming the Head Prefect for Health. Despite Adam’s success, he has experienced great loss; after his father died, his sisters were sold as child brides, and Adam was left to take care of himself on the streets before he was discovered by C.R.O.
