Agnes is currently attending Uganda Christian University, where she is pursuing a degree in social work and social administration. Agnes has assimilated well into life at her university and while reflecting on her experience so far, she stated, “The course is so interesting, it’s flexible and it cuts across all professions… I can be a counselor, teacher and a psychologist.”

Vision for the Future:

Agnes has always been inspired by the opportunities that C.R.O made possible for her. She hopes to one day help people in similar situations as herself. Agnes is excited about the different possibilities for career choices and is eager to begin exploring her options throughout different organizations that assist with hospitals, schools, and various communities.

More on Agnes’s Background:

Agnes is someone who has continuously persevered, despite the circumstances that have made her journey challenging. Agnes provided for herself, her mother, and five siblings by scavenging the streets for charcoal and food. Although Agnes’ father returned when her mother passed away in 2006, he remarried a woman who was emotionally and physically abusive to Agnes. Agnes was able to escape her unhealthy life with the assistance of C.R.O., and she began school. In this new environment, she thrived playing netball and football and was involved with Music, Dance, and Drama. At C.R.O., she served as treasurer of the Peer Educators club and as chairperson of C.R.O choir. Agnes is not only determined and focused, but she also enjoys socializing and the company of her friends.
