Kiseka Samson

Samson is studying Economics and Management at Uganda Christian University. In his application, he wrote, “I enjoyed studying economics [in secondary school] because this could help me on how to utilise the available scarce resources and plan for my future.”

Samson was a member of C.R.O. for eight years before he began his university in 2011. During his time at C.R.O., he participated in football (American soccer), helped at the C.R.O. farm and served as an interpreter among the children.

Samson has been doing well in his studies and reported being grateful for the presence of other C.R.O. students at Uganda Christian University. Earlier this year, he completed an internship with the Mbale Municipality Council, under the supervision of the Economic Planner. He enjoyed the opportunity to use the skills he has gained from the classroom.

When board members gathered with all the CROSO scholars in the Mbale area, Samson was quick to point out how good it was for all these Scholars to gather together. He started a conversation among the CROSO scholars of what a powerful group they could be if they combined their varied skills. Samson is on track to graduate in the fall of 2014 and is already preparing himself for life beyond university.

We look forward to the results of future CROSO Scholar reunions!

***Update: Kiseka Samson graduated on October 31, 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management from Uganda Christian University.
